The world's first service club, Rotary began with the formation
of the Rotary Club of Chicago, Illinois, USA, on 23 February
1905. 2005 is the centennial year for Rotary International.
RI is the lead organization working to eradicate Polio
worldwide by 2005.

Clubs meet weekly for fellowship and interesting
and informative programs dealing with topics of local and global
importance. The Hancock club meets at the Park & Dine
Restaurant every Tuesday at 12:30 PM.
The Hancock Rotary
is involved in many service projects for the community including
youth athletic and scholarship support
and charity benefits. Annually members organize the Halloween
Parade, Children's Fishing Rodeo, and a Tri-state Basketball Shootout, Hancock Playground Project, Christmas for others via Interfaith Service Coalition, Hancock Cub Scouts, Dictionary Project for all 3rd Graders attending school in Hancock and Fulton County, Pa, humanitarian projects i.e. clean water projects, food, clothing and shoes for Africans and South Americans, Foundation Scholarships for graduating seniors and for working adults trying to improve their quality of life, and other civic projects such as beautification of town's welcome sign, planting trees and flowers for its parks.
Annual fundraiser: Annual Hancock Rotary Club Dinner and Raffle with silent and traditional auctions..
2008 Annual Dinner, Raffle, silent and traditional auction will be held at the Hancock American Legion Hall on Tuesday Evening, 8 April 2008 at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $30.00 for ticket holder and one guest. Tickets availabe from Rotary members or call Dan Murphy at 301-678-6635.
